How this is counted

Winding-up counts every case type the court files under Companies — Petition naming a winding up. Administrations count every Companies — Application naming an administration, which includes notices of intention to appoint. Petitions on the unfair prejudice track are a shareholder remedy rather than a creditor one and are excluded.

The current month is left out because it is always partial. The shaded band is not an annotation of policy — it is simply the stretch in which administrations outnumbered petitions, which is what the restriction on creditor petitions did to the record.

A gap here means absence from the record, not absence from the courts.
